Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 October 2026
These terms apply when you use ScorpTax, provided by Scorpia Tech Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. By creating an account you agree to them.
What ScorpTax does
ScorpTax helps you keep digital records and send quarterly updates and your Self Assessment tax return to HMRC under Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. ScorpTax is in beta: features may change and some kinds of income are not supported yet. Where ScorpTax can't handle something, it will tell you and point you to HMRC or other software.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for your tax affairs, including the accuracy of what you send to HMRC and meeting HMRC's deadlines. ScorpTax only submits when you confirm it.
- Keep your sign-in details and authenticator app safe, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- Only connect ScorpTax to your own HMRC account.
Not tax advice
ScorpTax explains HMRC's rules in plain English, but it is not a substitute for professional advice about your circumstances. Tax estimates shown before HMRC's final calculation may differ from what you owe.
Liability
We take care to run ScorpTax correctly and securely, but we are not liable for penalties, interest or losses caused by information you entered, by delays or outages at HMRC, or by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending your account
You can stop using ScorpTax at any time and export your records first. We may suspend accounts used to misuse the service or HMRC's systems. Questions: scorptax@scorpiatech.com.
